This is an unheated Padparadscha sapphire from Luc Yen in northern Vietnam, a unique stone from Luc Yen characterized by a bright and vibrant orangey-pink base color covered with a silky component.

While the silky component covers most of the stone, there are partial clear areas visible at certain angles. When light is applied, the blue tint from the silky component intensifies, enhancing the purple hue. However, in GTJ's judgment, the overall impression of the color barely falls within the Padparadscha range.

Finished in a horizontally elongated gemstone Type 2, the combination of the Nalika cut on the pavilion side, which means "clock" in Thai, and the simple cut on the crown side creates a simple yet sharp brilliance. This brilliance, combined with the silkiness, resembles the veins of a flower petal, resulting in a piece with a strong floral impression.
