This is a 2.22ct rough, unheated sapphire from Kanchanaburi, Western Thailand.

A line of gray-silver silk inclusions runs across one side.

It was given to me by a couple who own a jewelry store in Kanchanaburi, where I've been a customer for about 4 years.

Although there are inclusions throughout, it was an expressive rough stone, so we intentionally left the inclusions and adopted a pear shape that utilized its original form.

To preserve the unique character of this sapphire as much as possible, we made the table larger than a typical cut, retaining the rich expressiveness of the stone, including its silk inclusions.

There are crack-like inclusions overlapping the silk inclusions on the table, and inclusions throughout, so it's not a top-grade stone. However, it's a unique piece filled with the charm of sapphire, carrying a rare blue and purple color for a Kanchanaburi-produced stone.

While many rough stones are thin, this one had a relatively good thickness, so the proportions are excellent. The fine step cuts on the pavilion allow purple, orange, and blue to sparkle beautifully, weaving through the silver silk inclusions.

This is a unique piece that has been elevated into an artistic and highly complete work through the exquisite fusion of color and inclusions.

It has an indescribable nuanced color, a calm pale blue mixed with purple near the culet, and bright blue and gray can also be seen depending on the angle and light source.

The dignified pear shape is adorned with step cuts, and a rhythmic sparkle of fine brilliance overflows.

The scene along the slightly pinkish-silver sparkling growth lines is impressive, and the misty texture creates a mysterious atmosphere, accentuating the piece.

Layered inclusions and cracks intricately refract light, causing light particles of various sizes to sparkle irregularly, and colors boldly mix depending on the angle.

The sparkle also features a very beautiful combination of colors rarely seen, such as light orange, light blue, silver, and bronze.

The unpredictable movement of light and the mixing of colors due to inclusions, the dynamic yet delicate expression created by metallic growth lines traversing it, and the different colors and brilliance at different angles—these elements combine in a perfectly balanced work that embodies beauty through individuality.
