This unheated particolor sapphire from Vietnam features a milky white base blended with blue.

It's a large 25ct+ piece crafted into a unique trilliant shape with varying side lengths.

The rough material was not a highly transparent crystal, but rather a challenging one with numerous inclusions.

However, by carefully applying facets, the true essence of sapphire, which is "enjoying the individuality of the crystal," has been fully brought out.

Inside, iridescence shimmers in rainbow colors depending on the angle, and in addition to the white and blue base colors, film-like yellow and orange inclusions add an accent.

Rough stones of this type are difficult to handle, as there is a risk that the crystal itself may collapse depending on how the inclusions are distributed.

This piece is a result of trial and error, with direct guidance from the founder of GTJ to main cutter Piachan.

The founder, who oversaw the production, said:

"The blue on the right edge of the front image was beautiful, so I chose a trilliant with different side lengths to ensure that blue was absolutely preserved. It was a bit of a struggle to make Piachan, who prefers symmetry, fully understand this."

Even as a hobby project after retirement, it's clear that each stone is carefully considered, the material is treated with respect during production, and the cutter, Piachan, is directly engaged to encourage growth.

This is a rare gem, combining rough material with a unique texture and expert cutting, something you'd hardly find in the market.
