This piece features an unheated parti-color sapphire from Sri Lanka with a rich orange-purplish pink color band running diagonally across the center and silky zones on either side.The rough stone has been fashioned into a shape somewhere between an oval and a cushion.

This stone has the appearance and inclusions of a Kashmir fuchsia sapphire, and its vibrant orange-pink sparkle, which could be described as a padparadscha color, is beautifully enhanced by the purplish and neon sparkle that are characteristic of silky stones.

When exposed to UV light, the central color band glows red and the silky zone fluoresces pink.

There are black spot inclusions and fractures (internal cracks) throughout the stone, but these can be enjoyed as part of the stone's character.
