This piece is made from an unheated padparadscha sapphire from Sri Lanka, a model padparadscha color that is a mix of vivid pink and orange in about equal parts, and is fashioned into an oval shape from the rough stone.

This is a rare, classic color among padparadscha sapphires, with a beautiful rich orange-pink color pooling on both ends.

Although it is not a thick type in terms of proportions, the delicate flower cut minimizes the feeling of openness, and it gives off a strong sparkle depending on the angle.

There are small inclusions throughout the stone, but none that are distracting to the naked eye, adding a unique charm to this beautifully colored stone.

When exposed to UV light, it fluoresces red.
