This is an unheated cat's eye ruby ​​from Luc Yen in northern Vietnam. Vietnam is famous for its star rubies, which show a six-rayed star when light is shone on them, but this stone is a rare gem in which a cat's eye streak (shuttoyancy effect) appears.

The crystal has a color similar to that of a purple sapphire and has silk inclusions, giving the stone a translucent texture and containing fine inclusions and orange layer inclusions.

The surface has been polished to a high shine, and the back side has inclusions visible all over it, but it has been polished to the maximum extent possible without affecting the cat's mark.

The light streaks are not long, but the shiny silver streaks stand out even without a particularly strong light.
