An unheated Burmese sapphire with a navy crystal and luster from silk inclusions.

This piece is finished with a sugarloaf cabochon on one side and a buff top with a flower cut on the other.

Originally a faceted gemstone, it was recut into a cabochon to make the most of its silky and low-transparency qualities.

While not quite a star, a single luster caused by silk inclusions emerges along the sugarloaf shape.

The side that was originally the table was finished with a buff top, and a flower cut was added along the outline for a playful touch.

When light is applied, the vivid blue contained within the crystal is brought out, so observing it in direct sunlight is one way to enjoy the charm of this stone.
