This is a rare and interesting piece of spinel from Luc Yen in northern Vietnam, where the rough stone still has its mother rock attached, and is finished as part of the artwork without removing the mother rock.

The crystals have a typical Luk Yen color scheme of pink, purple, and orange, and contain tiny bubble inclusions throughout, which create a lovely look when combined with the brown host rock.

You can also enjoy the linear sparkle created by the neatly finished octagonal step cut, so be sure to enjoy this stone, which can also be considered a collector's item in a sense.
