This spinel from Luc Yen in northern Vietnam has a light, deep base color and a pink sparkle that is a mixture of purple and orange.The piece is a fancy cushion with a border and features a narika cut, which means clock in Thai.

The pink, a mixture of purple and orange, is a complex shade typical of Luk Yen, and the sharp, delicate sparkle created by the Narika cut and the fine cuts on the crown side is beautiful, with colorful fire flickering as well.

Although there are small inclusions, they are not as large or distracting to the naked eye as they appear in the photograph, and the overall crystal is highly transparent and beautiful.
