This piece is made of bright, well-colored spinel from Luc Yen in northern Vietnam, which is slightly pinker than purple, and has been finished into a neat, standard octagonal shape.

The crystal is extremely transparent, and although it does contain tiny inclusions, they are almost invisible to the naked eye, and the linear sparkle emanating from the clear crystal is beautiful.
