The double cabochon cut and color bands are unique, creating an expressive piece that may seem simple at first glance but reveals more discoveries the more you look at it.

Numerous deep blue color bands run through the near-colorless stone with just a hint of yellow, and from certain angles, vibrant blue spreads across parts of it.

Before cutting, the stripy inclusions on the sides were noticeable. After considering how to best utilize the color bands, the gem, originally a faceted cut, was reborn as a double cabochon cut.

One side is a cabochon cut, and the opposite side is a cabochon cut with reduced thickness, surrounded by a single step cut.

In addition to the unique luster of the double cabochon and the visual intrigue of peering into a lens, the step cut adds a design element while also creating a subtle sparkle along the contours of the cabochon surface, which is quite interesting.

There are translucent stripy inclusions and small white crystalline inclusions on the side, but due to the reflections from the gentle curve of the cabochon cut, they are difficult to spot with the naked eye.
