This sapphire was from Kanchanaburi, which I visited on a jewel-focused trip in December 2023.
This is a beautiful blue sapphire that is typical of Kanchanaburi, with a slightly milky stone texture and blue with hints of purple and green.
Originally a chestnut-type pear-shaped stone, it has been cut into a gemstone shape, and the pavilion side has a narika cut, which means clock in Thai, causing sparkles to spring up in all directions from the center of the milky stone.
It has a gentle atmosphere, but the vividness and sharp, vertical gemstone shape create a piece that is exquisitely balanced.
This interesting stone has color bands that appear depending on the angle, so please enjoy it in your hands.
