A sapphire from Kanchanaburi, a gem mining town in western Thailand.
This stone features a long cushion shape and delicate flower cut applied to a crystal with blue and light yellow zones.
Soft blue pools along the bottom, blending with a nearly colorless light yellow. The overall impression is a Kanchanaburi-like color with a base of blue and hints of green.
The blue has a slight silkiness, creating the characteristic softness of Kanchanaburi sapphires.
Under magnification, fine blue color bands can be seen within the blue zone, showcasing the classic sapphire appearance.
When viewed from the girdle, the yellow is more prominent, revealing a pleochroic effect.
While there are fine inclusions, none are conspicuous, resulting in a beautiful crystal. The blue shimmer has a gradient effect, with occasional flashes of colorful fire.
The slightly greenish ocean blue resembles the hue of blue zircon, and a wide range of blue tones, with varying shades from the bicolor crystal, flow across the stone.
Originally an oval shape, the sides were significantly cut down to create thickness, ensuring excellent sparkle.
This is a carefully cut stone from a rare sapphire from a now-closed mine.
