This piece is made of rich, highly saturated orange grossular garnet (hessonite), and has been fashioned from the rough stone into a fancy oval with a finely outlined outline.

Although there are a few small transparent inclusions, these beautiful crystals are completely invisible to the naked eye, and the flower cut gives them a vibrant orange sparkle.

Since it is an orange grossular garnet, it is a type of hessonite garnet, but it does not have the molasses-like texture that is characteristic of hessonite and is a very clear crystal.
