This is a green zircon from Madagascar, emitting a vivid forest green sparkle from its deep body color.
This is an impressive work by "Piacchan," GTJ's main cutter, who spent a whole day meticulously shaping this difficult-to-polish green zircon into a precise octagon.
Green zircon belongs to the category known as "low-type" zircons, and because its crystalline properties differ from "high-type" zircons, it is known as a very difficult stone to polish.
While the number of individual stones isn't extremely small, many of those on the market have a rough finish, making a green zircon with such a beautiful, lustrous cut surprisingly rare.
Through a precise step cut, linear flashes of forest green shimmer through the stone.
While low-type zircons have slightly lower refractive index and dispersion than high-type zircons, colorful fire can still be seen depending on the angle.
Its transparency is exceptional, and apart from one transparent layer believed to be a growth layer, it is a beautiful crystal with no noticeable inclusions.
With a volume of over 2 carats, it is an impressive single stone.
Please enjoy the sparkle created by its brilliant, untarnished green and exquisitely finished cut.
