This is a green beryl from Nigeria. It's a green beryl that is brighter than what is typically called emerald and gets its color mainly from vanadium and iron.


It weighs over half a carat and has good color saturation. It features Piachan's long rectangle step cut. The cut shape is similar to those often found in aquamarines.

With this particular cut, each facet shines brightly. It has a different appeal than an emerald cut, and this bluish-green color is extremely beautiful.

Green beryl is basically almost the same as emerald, and even highly transparent ones like this have a high probability of being treated with impregnation. Although we haven't performed such extensive testing on this particular piece, it's safe to assume that most Nigerian green beryls on the market have undergone impregnation treatment.

However, unlike emeralds, the presence or absence of impregnation does not significantly affect the price at present, so you don't need to worry about it.
