This piece features a slightly translucent orange fire opal from Mexico, cut into an oval shape.

Red and green play-of-color emerge at its center, beautifully intertwined with the delicate sparkle from the flower cut.

The red play-of-color appearing on the vividly orange body color looks like flames, with complementary green and sparkling yellow enhancing the red.

Under indoor lighting, the play-of-color appears softly, but under strong light such as sunlight or LED, it becomes very prominent.

Opal has a low specific gravity and is light, so its size appears larger relative to its carat weight.

Additionally, due to opal's low hardness, polishing takes time and effort, making beautiful faceted opals rare in the market.
