This soft pink spinel from Mahenge, Tanzania, has a slightly silky texture, with a deep neon pink hue at the tip and rounded sides, giving the stone a rich, deep color and depth.
The Narika cut, which means "clock" in Thai, was used to remove inclusions. The sharp sparkle emitted from the pavilion adds a dignified look to the soft crystal.
The surface is a perfectly balanced pear shape, and the crown is meticulously cut and polished, creating a slightly silky texture that sparkles with colorful fire (rainbow-colored sparkle).
As for inclusions, there are very thin layers on the edge of the table, as well as other very small inclusions, but they are so beautiful that they are indistinguishable from the naked eye. What is even more noteworthy are the needle-like inclusions that appear to intersect with the silk-like inclusions. These are thought to be derived from hegboehmite, and are fun to observe with a magnifying glass.
This pear-shaped spinel is a perfect blend of contrasting elements, neon and silky, soft and sharp, that are characteristic of Mahenge. Please enjoy its unique character, which can only be appreciated by holding it in your hands.
