This is a loose emerald from Madagascar, cut into a Gem Shape (Type 1), commonly known as a gemstone shape.
Weighing just under 4ct, and with this shape naturally giving the impression of a wider surface, it has a very significant presence.
This is one of the pieces created by dividing a massive 38ct rough stone into three, and it was crafted by our founder.
The pavilion is made up of steps, with minimal exposure, resulting in a very beautiful finish.
While inclusions, which are synonymous with emeralds, are present, it is a beautiful piece with a discernible transparency.
Although this data is a bit old, around 2000, Madagascar emeralds had a market share of 3%, making it a small producing region overall. (Colombia was 60%)
Perhaps acquiring an emerald from such a small deposit might be a good choice.
This emerald has undergone oil impregnation. (Checked by Japan-Germany Gemological Laboratory) This oil impregnation treatment is not one that significantly reduces the value of the emerald (like diffusion).
It is generally applied to emeralds.
This large, gemstone-shaped Madagascar emerald, unlike those from Nigeria, has less blueness and a strong green hue.
It has a powerful presence, so please pick it up and admire it.
