This is an emerald from Nigeria. While Nigerian green beryl is relatively well-known, a small amount of emeralds that are distinctly green are also produced.
Emeralds get their bluish-green color from chromium and vanadium, but lighter green stones colored by iron are not considered emeralds and are circulated as green beryl.
This emerald was cut by Piachan into a rectangular (rectangle) step cut, allowing you to enjoy the "sparkle that runs along the step facets" characteristic of beryl.
It has a different appeal than an emerald cut, and by daring to differentiate the cut from a typical emerald cut, it brings out GemTreeJapan's unique style.
Although there are inclusions, they are few for an emerald, and there are many clean areas, making it a beautiful loose stone. You can see rainbows depending on the angle.
As a basic treatment, it has undergone oil impregnation. (Checked by Japan Germany Gemmological Laboratory) Oil impregnation is almost always done for emeralds and is not a treatment that lowers its value.
This piece is especially recommended for those who care about the origin.
While Colombian emeralds account for the majority of the market share, Nigerian emeralds are extremely rare, with even less circulation than Madagascan emeralds.
Nigerian green beryl has been produced in large quantities, but emeralds are very precious. Take this opportunity to feel its beauty and rarity firsthand.
