This chrysoberyl from Nigeria, a blend of pastel green and pastel yellow, has been crafted into a shield-like shape.

The entire bold, emblem-like shape is finished with a simple step cut, and the brilliance that wells up from within, unique to a well-proportioned stone, is beautifully reflected by the step cut.

The most distinctive feature of this Nigerian chrysoberyl is its "color" when viewed in sunlight.

When seen under indoor lighting or soft natural light, it appears as a soft greenish-yellow, but when exposed to sunlight, the green hue becomes much more prominent.

Similarly, when illuminated by LED light, its blueness intensifies.

Chrysoberyls that exhibit a color change are highly rare, and generally, those with a strong change are popular and highly valued. Alexandrite, a type of chrysoberyl, is a prime example.
