This chrysoberyl from Nigeria, a mix of pastel green and pastel yellow, has been crafted into a fancy round with a finely outlined edge.
The pavilion side features a "nalika" cut, which means "clock" in Thai, emitting a thin, sharp sparkle from the center like a second hand.
The crown side features GTJ's original Table Cube Cut, where box shapes appear around the table, adding brilliance to the sparkle.
The most distinctive feature of this Nigerian chrysoberyl is its "color" when viewed in sunlight.
When viewed under indoor lighting or soft natural light, it appears as a soft greenish-yellow, but when exposed to sunlight, the green hue becomes much more prominent.
Similarly, when illuminated with LED light, the blueness intensifies.
Color-changing chrysoberyls are highly rare, and generally, those that exhibit a strong change are popular and highly valuable. Alexandrite, a type of chrysoberyl, is a prime example.
While the color change in this stone is gradual, such chrysoberyls with unique color-changing properties are rare.
The dazzling effect from its high brightness in sunlight, combined with the very hard sparkle characteristic of chrysoberyl, creates a vibrant and refreshing color with enhanced blueness.
Although there are small inclusions, they are completely unnoticeable to the naked eye, hidden by the sparkle.
Please enjoy this unique stone, cut with GTJ's original design, which you can only acquire here.
