Narika Octagon
Piacchan's work
Sorting (simple appraisal certificate) included
This piece is made of Nigerian chrysoberyl, a very bright light yellowish green, and has been finished into a regular octagon.
The pavilion side features a Narika cut, which means clock in Thai, and the crown side features a cube cut, an original GTJ cut, which creates a three-dimensional shape floating around the table.
There are fingerprint-like inclusions and small inclusions, but to the naked eye they are not as large or noticeable as they appear in the photo and blend in with the sparkle.
The most distinctive feature of this Nigerian chrysoberyl is its color when viewed in sunlight.
When viewed indoors or in gentle natural light, it appears a soft greenish yellow, but when exposed to sunlight, the green color becomes more pronounced.
Similarly, when exposed to LED light, the blue color becomes stronger.
Chrysoberyl that changes color is rare, but those that show a strong color change are generally more popular and valuable. Alexandrite, a type of chrysoberyl, is a prime example.
The color change in this stone is gradual, but chrysoberyl that exhibits such a unique color change is very rare.
The dazzling brightness when viewed in sunlight and the extremely hard sparkle characteristic of chrysoberyl combine to create a refreshing, vibrant color with a stronger blue tint.
Enjoy this precious, interesting and dazzling chrysoberyl of over 1 carat, cut with GTJ's original technique.
