This piece is amazonite from Vietnam, a type of stone that belongs to the micro-clinefelspar group of feldspar. There are very few gem-quality pieces, and they are basically all densely packed with inclusions. Although it has a Mohs hardness of 6 to 6.5, it has the property of perfect cleavage in two directions, making it extremely difficult to cut, making it a rare stone that is rarely available on the market.

The name Amazonite is said to have come from the fact that it was once mined from the Amazon River and was brought to the market by jewelers, but in fact it is not mined from the Amazon River. It is apparently produced in Peru, Brazil, Russia, South Africa, China, the United States, and Vietnam.

I was able to obtain some rough stones during a recent visit to Vietnam, so I used the GTJ cut to create a piece that combines rarity with beauty.

It was quite a struggle as it kept falling apart while I was cutting it and it ended up losing some of its thickness, but I managed to create a fancy pear shape with a finely outlined border.

The refreshing mint green color is beautiful, and the crystal is quite clear overall, with the diagonal linear inclusions adding a nice touch.

Please enjoy the rare stone amazonite, which is made from carefully selected crystals and has an outstanding cut.
