This sapphire was purchased in December 2023 in Kanchanaburi, a city in western Thailand that is famous for its sapphire mines.

The clear crystals have a refreshing color that is neither too dark nor too light, and when viewed with a magnifying glass, they have a slight silkiness that is typical of Kanchanaburi stones.

When viewed from the pavilion side, the color bands can be observed, and rather than the clear division between the blue and colorless stones typical of Sri Lanka, there is a greenish base color, making this a recommended stone for purchasing as a specimen from Kanchanaburi.

Although there are some tiny inclusions, they are completely invisible to the naked eye, and this is one of my favorite pieces in which I was able to extract the beautiful parts from a pear-shaped BEFORE gemstone that had fatal inclusions.
