The piece was originally completed at 2.9 carats, but after discussing with the founder how to add a bit of GTJ's style to the cut, the finished product was already beautiful enough, and further cuts were added to create a royal blue sapphire from Burma.

Given the rarity of this nearly 3 carat Burmese sapphire with beautiful color, I put off trying it for a while, but when I decided to go ahead and recut it, it turned out to be a fancy cushion with an outline that is filled with the delicate sparkle that is characteristic of a GTJ. Naturally, the carat weight decreased, but its beauty was amplified and so was its value.

The pavilion side is cut with a pavilion of diamonds, while the crown side is cut in two separate steps, giving off a rich, first-class royal blue sparkle.

The L-shaped pool of color in the center gives it a sapphire-like feel, while the beautiful sparkle of the blue diffused throughout is irresistible.

Although there are small inclusions, they are not noticeable to the naked eye, so you can enjoy the beauty that can truly be described as first-class.
