Sorting (EGL simplified appraisal report)
This piece was born from a 5.24ct greenish-blue sapphire rough.

Although it had sufficient weight and size, its outline was extremely peculiar, and it took a long time from the time of purchase to determine "what shape it should be guided into."
It was already slightly cut when purchased.

The rough stone had white layered inclusions near the surface, which was the most challenging factor in the cutting design.
First, we carefully removed only the unnecessary parts, exploring the stone's character at the preform stage.

Initially, a standard cushion shape was considered, but it was determined that too much material would have to be cut off to achieve that shape, reducing the finished product to the 1-carat range.
Therefore, the cushion shape was abandoned, and we pivoted towards maximizing the individuality of the rough stone.

While prioritizing "not cutting" as much as possible,
the preform was shaped to clearly convey the intention of the final design to the faceter, Pia-chan, and the result was:
A cut like an eye, based on a three-dimensional marquise shape.

Utilizing the wide facets created by removing large inclusions, the pavilion was intentionally given an extremely simple configuration of only two large facets.

On the other hand, the crown features a delicate flower cut on a three-dimensional marquise shape, with a table placed at its center, creating a design inspired by an "eye."
The pavilion facets are completely flat, yet they maintain sufficient thickness.
The intricate facets of the flower cut layered on top create a unique sparkle.
Since the pavilion is divided into two facets, only one side sparkles, which is another charming aspect as the stone's appearance changes depending on how it catches the light.

The color is a beautiful blend of blue and green, reminiscent of a peacock,溶け合っ within the deep crystal.
It also has high transparency, making it a crystal of very good quality.
A single streak of inclusion remains at the bottom.
Initially, we planned to add another facet to remove it, but its appearance was as beautiful as a peacock feather, so we intentionally left it as part of the stone's individuality.
To the naked eye, it's barely noticeable, feeling only slightly silky.

However, when viewed through a loupe, a silky feather appears within the deep ground color, with a faint hint of yellow bleeding into it—it presents a very striking appearance.
The greenish-blue hue, the eye-like shape, and the feather-like inclusion floating in the center.
As all of these evoke a peacock, we named this piece "Peacock's Eye."
The table represents the pupil, and the delicate facets of the flower cut evoke the image of a peacock spreading its feathers and the iris of an eye.
This is a one-of-a-kind piece crafted like haute couture, through dialogue with a valuable sapphire rough.
It is uncertain if the same can be made again.
Both color and clarity are excellent, and the size is a substantial 2.62ct.
Originally, it was intended to be listed for around 500,000 yen, but with the desire for you to understand GemTreeJapan's commitment to gem crafting through the production process of this piece and to enjoy it in your hands, we are offering it at a special one-price of ¥396,000.
