This is a large Malaya garnet, nearly 2 ct, with a pink base.

It's a single stone with a complex color where purplish pink, like rhodolite, is layered with an orange sparkle.

No inclusions are visible to the naked eye or under close-up, and nothing concerning is seen when viewed from the pavilion.


It features a fancy cushion & flower cut by Piachchan, and the table is a hexagonal rupee shape.

Since "pyralspite" is not mentioned on the case or sorting report, it is a pyrope/spessartine mixed Malaya garnet.

However, it is almost never the case that a two-component mixture contains only those two components.

There must be a standard at the identification laboratory or an international standard; it is common for trace amounts of almandine or grossular to be mixed in.
