This cobalt spinel was mined in Luc Yen in northern Vietnam and is a rare, bright and gorgeous stone with confirmed cobalt bands.

Cobalt tends to have inclusions, but this stone is a beautiful crystal with high transparency, although it does have small inclusions.

Due to its rarity, there are few neat cuts for this type of stone, but this one has been finished into an octagonal shape with an outstanding finish, which adds to the rarity of the cut.

The crown side features a cube cut that brings to mind the GTJ's original three-dimensional shape, while the flower cut on the pavilion side emits a delicate, strong sparkle and fire.
