Rhodolite...(pyrope & almandine)
Rhodolite garnet, a member of the pyralspite family of red garnets, is the most popular of the red garnets as a wine-colored gemstone, and is a solid solution containing intermediate components between pyrope garnet and almandine garnet.
It is hard, durable, requires no treatment to enhance its qualities, and is easy to clean, making it ideal for jewelry.
It is often found in alluvial deposits as water-worn pebbles, but occasionally it is mined directly from the metamorphic host rock.
The color ranges from pink to lavender, with raspberry being the most valuable color.
